This story begins on a warm spring day in March 2012, in the beautiful city of Victoria (Canada)! Unbeknownst to a couple of burgeoning lemonade stand entrepreneurs, their stand led to a “chance” encounter where two strangers would fall in love. Logan had just finished a run when he stopped by to support the stand and quench his thirst with some $.25 ice cold lemonade. While enjoying the delicious lemon beverage, a certain brunette beauty was riding by and noticed the lemonade stand but more importantlyShe noticed the sweaty, hunkarific mess of a man at the lemonade stand. she noticed the sweaty, hunkarific mess of a man at it. Fumbling through her purse looking for money she realized she only had a $20 bill – before she could say anything, Logan quickly slid the young boy another quarter and said to Megan “this one’s on me!” – the perfect ice breaker! Spring was in the air and after a short chat, Logan twisted Megan’s rubber arm into walking down to the local pub to continue their conversation. Their first impressions sparked instant chemistry that both remember – “Megan’s glowing eyes that matched her beaming smile” and “Logan’s beautiful and distinctive hazel eyes“. They were instantly attracted to each other. Megan loved how Logan could make her laugh, or upon learning she was an aspiring writer shared one of his childhood short stories he’d written – after that she was hooked. Megan’s laid back, non-fussy, humble farmer’s daughter personality was a big checkbox item on Logan’s list. He loved that she was funny and smart. After the amount of first date chemistry, both knew they were done fishing for others! After the amount of first date chemistry, both knew they were done fishing for others!

Not long after they began dating, their relationship faced its first tribulation – the landscaping company Logan was working for closed down. He was now faced with a life changing decision; should he open up his own landscaping business in Victoria (where he hadn’t anticipated ever calling home) or move back to his home town of Montreal and open his new business there. For the first time Megan suddenly realized the idea of not having Logan in her life was terrifying. She didn’t know what to do; she felt it wasn’t fair to put extra pressure on Logan by asking him to stay. However, after some wise motherly advice, Megan put her heart out there with the very scary reality that he might choose to leave anyway.
She didn’t want anything to be left unsaid or have any regrets –
She didn’t want anything to be left unsaid or have any regrets –so she told Logan how she felt about him. After a couple of tough weeks, it dawned on Logan, how incredibly selfless Megan was being through the whole process. She never made it about her, she never pressed too hard for “them” even though he knew the pit in her stomach was growing daily. That put his love for her over the top, it made him realize exactly how unconditionally supportive and how truly special a person she was. Needless to say, Red Door Design is one of the best up and coming landscape businesses – in Victoria! This process not only changed their relationship for the better, but also made each of them realize they were the one for the other.

Some of their fondest memories spent together include: crashing an affluent New Years Eve party at a world famous hotel in Victoria and ripping up the dance floor all night, or

Megan, the daughter of an apple orchardist grew up surrounded by orchards, so it was only fitting that their next major relationship milestone involved apples, the big apples…New York City! Logan went all out – months of planning, calling Megan’s boss begging to get time off (after her request was formally denied), and even hiring a photographer in NYC to covertly capture the big moment. It was a crisp January morning while sightseeing in a park overlooking Queens Bridge when Logan took a selfie of them (which he despises) just so that he could position Megan in the perfect spot overlooking the bridge and the right angle for the photographer! After she was in position, Logan pulled back his shirt sleeve to reveal a watch that Megan had given him (but never worn). He shared that the watch was a symbol, and it was time to start the next chapter of our lives together, he then got down on bended knee and proposed!
a resounding “YES” was her answer – when no sooner did she notice there was no diamond in the ring.
There was no hesitation in Megan, a resounding “YES” was her answer – when no sooner did she notice there was no diamond in the ring. To make the ring even more symbolic of their lives together, Logan thought it would be great symbolism if Megan picked out the perfect diamond for the ring.So he quickly whisked her off to New York’s diamond district to pick out her stone. The evening was capped off with a romantic dinner overlooking Central Park, seeing “Wicked” on Broadway and enjoying cocktails into the late night at a fancy bar. Megan felt like the star in her very own romantic movie, with the best leading man a girl could hope for.

After a weekend camping trip, they made a quick unplanned stop for coffee at Strathcona Park Lodge. A short look around they realized just how special the location was! The laid back staff, stunning views and endless activities, they knew it would be a perfect place to bring their two families together for their wedding. They wanted to give the guests a true West Coast experience and knew this venue could provide just that. They also loved that there was no cell service which meant guests would have to unplug for the entire weekend to really relax being in nature, and be present in the moment on the wedding day. It was the perfect back drop as they wanted a very natural feel and look to the wedding and its décor.
Logan made centerpieces for all the tables, and personalized custom cedar coasters for all the wedding guests.
The barn on its own was so beautiful that it didn’t need much to make it sparkle; white lights, driftwood arch and wild flowers tied everything together.

They loved all the personal touches that went into their perfect day. Kristine, Megan`s sister, made the bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages, Megan and Jason, close friends made the wedding cake, cupcakes and nature inspired cake stand. One special memento were the “Mr. and Mrs.” signs that Megan’s mom hand crafted with love. They were created from old barn shakes that were taken from the barn on their property in Summerland that had recently been torn down. Megan had grown up beside that barn and it had been in the family since the 1800’s.
