Kristen likes to joke that she and Chad have an arranged marriage – because they met through their fathers who are old work colleagues. Chad was first introduced to the McIntosh family on one of his first visits to Prince George. It wasn’t long after, that he and Kristen would see each other at different social events, and they quickly realized their love of sports, music, family, lake time and wine – would have them planning more and more time together.
Chad was raised on the North Shore of Vancouver and ended up moving to Prince George for his family business, only intending to stay a year! There is a part of Kristen that suspects Chad fell in love with her pets before her…
Kristen changed all that with her friendship which blossomed into love, her extended family, wonderful friends, and welcoming home full of pets. There is a part of Kristen that suspects Chad fell in love with…

her pets before her – and given that he’s allergic to animals, it’s a testament to his love!
Chad was drawn to “Kristen’s beauty, magnetic presence, and her dynamic personality that lights up an entire room!” Kristen was attracted to Chad’s confidence, work ethic, dancing skills, cooking abilities – and of course his memorizing blue eyes!
These two both adore being near water…an ocean or a lake. The only thing Chad likes more, is being on the golf course. Thankfully there are golf courses around the world, so Kristen doesn’t have a problem dragging Chad on her worldly adventures – clubs in tow.
In June 2016, Kristen and Chad purchased their dream lot to build their future home on! For Kristen’s birthday they decided to drive up to the lot and celebrate with a glass of wine, some music and enjoy the sunset! In the back of her head, Kristen thought Chad had built a wooden bench for their soon-to-be porch. Little did she know he had something a little more exciting in mind. As she got out of the vehicle, eyes closed – there he was, down on one knee!
Little did she know he had something a little more exciting in mind.
Not until after all the gasping, squealing and tears subsided was he really sure she had said “YES!”

It was shaping up to be a very busy year – building a home and planning a destination wedding! They chose the stunning Pipe Shop in the North Vancouver’s Shipyards District as their wedding venue. It had everything they wanted; on the waterfront, a little bit industrial (as they both work in that industry), a hint of rustic, and a feeling of grandness. Kristen and Chad wanted the day to be a celebration, and it wasn’t just about their marriage. To them it was about the most important things in their lives – friends and family, together in one place.
They knew there would be a chance of rain for an April wedding in Vancouver – but they weren’t betting on the all-day deluge Mother Nature provided. Much like day-to-day life, they just rolled with it – a little rain never hurt a good dance party!
There are not many things these two haven’t accomplished in their five years together – but there is one thing for certain… their adventures will continue, the music will play, and there is sure to be a few more rain storms to dance in!
