Life has a wonderful way of making things come full circle. In January 2009, Kristi was giving her time by planning a large charity event for breast cancer and a mutual friend suggested she contact Tim as he owned a local restaurant, “The Shack”. Being a restaurateur, Tim had a lot of connections in the industry which might be of assistance for the charity event. Kristi assumed they would meet at The Shack, however Tim had ulterior motives and when he suggested they meet a more upscale restaurant, Bin 941. Kristi said “A bit of a step up from The Shack, no?” but didn’t really think much more of it.After an amazing meal, “engaging” conversation, and too much delicious wine Kristi was quite taken by…
After an amazing meal, “engaging” conversation, and too much delicious wine Kristi was quite taken by his charm. She asked Tim to give her a bit of time to sort out some personal things in her life, and a few months later they had their first official date (in Kristi’s eyes)! Little did Kristi know that by giving of herself, she would be receiving much more – Tim!

Kristi and Tim were inseparable from that first date on. Some of their most memorable vacations are: a trip to the Outside Lands Music Festival in San Francisco to listen to some of their favorites bands which also led them to wine country! Another favorite place they frequented is Kona, where they love to explore the island and volcanoes! When not traveling, one of their most prized traditions is a visit to the famous local Indian restaurant, Vij’s where they love to grab a bottle of wine while they wait out the long lines (Vij’s doesn’t take reservations).

Kristi and Tim quickly planned a getaway to Sonoma for the big celebration. The drive from San Francisco ended up being very long and stressful. When they finally arrived at Copain Winery they were late for their private tasting. Copain is set on top of a hill with magnificent views overlooking the Russian River Valley. As their tasting was coming to a close their host came up to explain that because they were late they would need to vacate the table. A full glass of Copain’s Rose and the suggestion to go for a nice walk on the property were given as an “apology”. They wandered further up the hill and stopped below a big, beautiful oak tree.

Tim then confessed that he needed to say something. After expressing some beautiful, heartfelt sentiments regarding their lives together, he got down on one knee and asked Kristi for her hand (and heart) in marriage! After a few breathless “oh my god! oh my god! oh my god!” Kristi finally uttered the words – “I mean, YES!!”
